First, the tactical shooter Operation Flashpoint: Cold War Crisis appeared, its game was the game Armed Assault, or just Arma. She was replaced by a sequel, Arma 2, which later acquired the DayZ mod. The mod, dedicated to the survival of the zombie apocalypse in the world, was released in 2012, and the next year the developers, Bohemia Interactive studio, presented a full-fledged game based on this mod - DayZ Standalone.
This time it’s not about a tactical shooter, but about a survival simulator with survival horror elements, and the world is offered open. At the moment, the game is still at the alpha testing stage on Steam. The creators, together with gamers, carefully study the gameplay and regularly make various changes. The full version is scheduled for release in 2016.

The game takes place in the same fictional country as in Arma 2 - in Chernorussia. Due to the global cataclysm, all the inhabitants of the country turned into zombies. This time we are talking about a fully multi-user project, the gameplay of which is significantly different from its predecessor. It has already been noted that DayZ Standalone is a survival simulator, and the simulator is very realistic. Players, of course, have to use the weapon for its intended purpose, but the survival process involves many other important components.
Starting the game, gamers will only have a flashlight, so you have to take good care of your hero. It will be necessary to obtain vital resources: food, clean water, clothes, ammunition and the weapon itself, because over time it will wear out. By the way, weapons can be upgraded. Its variety will please - from the kitchen knife to the machine. As for food, there are many possibilities for its extraction: you can grow vegetables in the garden, go fishing, hunting or go the simplest way - climb into an abandoned house and rummage around the kitchen.
However, the tests do not end there. It is quite obvious that in such conditions it is not surprising to catch some kind of infection, for example, cholera, hepatitis, tuberculosis or even a common cold. So you need to add medicine to the list of vital resources. It has long been known that there are many ways to survive. The world of DayZ Standalone is no exception. Players are free to choose whether they become bandits or policemen. In conclusion, it remains to say that the game does not provide for the possibility of saving. This further enhances the realism of the process. In case of death, the game will have to start all over again.
